Glazey Dave
The Disaster Coil
Energetic, distracted, brilliantly improvisational. Dave is a chaotic good dessert who always means well — and often succeeds by accident. He’s goofy, optimistic, and wildly adaptable. While others strategize, Dave acts — and somehow, he’s right more often than anyone can explain.
Beneath the messy glaze is a deeply kind core: he cares more than he lets on, and he's the first to dive into danger if someone else is at risk.
Glazey Dave was originally an unassigned utility dessert in CES R&D — meant to test jelly-based infrastructure tools and pastry propulsion systems. But after surviving (and somehow resolving) the Great Custard Spill of Layer 12, he was unofficially promoted to field tech.
Crumble tried to keep him out of major ops. He kept showing up anyway.
Since then, he’s become part of the standard CES trio — not because he’s predictable, but because he’s saved the team’s layers more times than anyone can count. His jelly coils may not be elegant, but they get the job done.
Dave is the CES wild card. He’s not a strategist, healer, or anchor — he’s possibility in motion. When a situation is falling apart, he’s usually the one diving into the collapse, untangling the disaster with a jelly-laced miracle.
He’s also the emotional pressure valve of the team — offering comic relief, wild optimism, and, on rare occasions, deep insight no one saw coming
Quirks:
Names his coils (Coily, Big Stretch, Susan, etc.)
Keeps a running “Oops Count” he won’t share with anyone
Collects broken frosting tools as good luck charms
Occasionally launches himself instead of the coil payload… on purpose
Allies:
Captain Crumble (pretends to disapprove, actually relies on him)
Whip Siren (emergency stabilizer of his chaos)
Strawbrawler (once rode a coil with him into combat — respects the madness)
Code Ganache (they “talk tech,” even if no one else follows)
Quote:
“I brought backup coils! …Wait, did I say backup or explosive?”
